Do you suffer from…
• Acne scarring?
• Dull, oily, or leathery skin texture?
• Fine lines and wrinkles?
• Sun damage?
• Pigmentation problems?
• Enlarged pores?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, one or more types of skin
resurfacing may be right for you. “Pixel” laser skin resurfacing, crystal
or crystal-free microdermabrasion, and chemical peels are possible methods.
Aging, sun exposure, heredity and lifestyle factors including alcohol consumption
and smoking all may contribute to facial wrinkling. Prior acne may have made the
surface of the skin uneven. Pigmentary changes of the skin, such as blotchiness
or brown spots, may also occur with age or as a result of birth control pills,
pregnancy or genetic factors. Patients may have their skin resurfaced at almost
any age.
“Pixel” laser skin resurfacing, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels remove
layers of skin; as the healing process progresses, a new, healthier-looking skin
emerges. What differentiates the various resurfacing methods is the way in which
the skin's layers are removed. “Pixel” laser resurfacing uses a laser beam to burn
tiny holes in the skin, microdermabrasion utilizes tiny crystals or which are sprayed
across the skin or tiny scrub brushes, and chemical peels involve the application
of a caustic solution that exfoliates the skin.
During your free consultation, your skin care consultant will determine which
skin resurfacing technique is best suited for your specific needs and expectations.
Treatments will be determined depending on severity of the problem area, skin type,
allergies, and how aggressive of a treatment the patient is willing to tolerate.
